{gallery wall or art shelves: pt 2}

You may remember I posted a long while back on the question of gallery walls vs. art shelves. I've been collecting art to display in my home office, and believe it or not, have still not decided which look to go for! Every time I think I've firmly decided on one, I see a gorgeous image that sways me to the other side again! Truth be told, I love both looks, and if I had enough rooms in my home I'd probably do both. So what do you think?

Gallery wall?

Or art shelves??

Geesh, I am so smitten with both! Ugh. And can you tell from my favorite inspiration photos that I am drawn to an all black & white palette with touches of silver & gold?? That's what I've been collecting so far. So for now, I'll keep on finding pieces to add, it's taking me a while since I am a firm believer in only displaying art work I adore!!

And I'd love to here your thoughts on my dilemma ...

SUMMER SUBWAY ART {Printable}

I have been looking around for a cute summer subway art printable to put in the frame I have on my entry buffet.  Since I haven’t been able to find anything I loved, I decided it was time to try my hand at creating subway art.  Here is what I came up with.summer subway art copyIsn’t it so cute???  I am really happy with it!  I created it in Microsoft Word.

I have decided to use this as a little incentive to get people to become followers of my blog.  I hope that’s not rude.

If you would like this printable, just become a follower or email subscriber of ReMarkable Home and then email me to tell me you did and that you would like the file and I will send it to you.  My email is remarkablehome@gmail.com

You can dance if you want to...

I am so excited!
I once posted a photo just like this of a print I wanted with these lyrics from Men Without Hats' popular song, The Safety Dance. Of course, true to form, I misplaced the link so I couldn't find the source of the art. Lucky for me, Etsy posted this exact image and the shop where it came from on their blog last week and I whooped with delight!

I immediately contacted the seller, Marianne from The Color Bee, who agreed to make one for me in a cheery yellow and white, for the art wall I want to create in my home. I have been collecting some fun pieces from Etsy artists and have quite a collection of great finds. And as soon as I can figure out where I want this art wall to be, I will have a great way to showcase my finds.

But I LOVE this one!
Because really, if you won't get up and dance you really are missing out on all of the fun!

lyric artwork

It's been years since I first saw this gorgeous dining room designed by Kishani Perera for Molly Sims' Soho loft. But whenever I am looking for a large piece of art, this room always comes to my mind first.

I am in love with this lyric artwork.
The greys.
The bold typography.
The crooked lines.
The the subtle metallic sheen.
The words.

The artist, Matthew Heller, did a whole line of lyric art pieces called "Homage to Music."

 This image from TRADhome reminded me of my much-loved lyric art. This piece is by Matthew Hall (which may be a typo? it looks way too similar to Matthew Heller's work).

Etsy seller GeeZees also does really similar custom lyric artwork. I personally like the larger scale pieces, but this definitely looks similar.

I'm obsessed.

Restart

The Problems I am encountering at the building of the German and English Versions seem to be unsolvable. I don't know how many test-DVDs have been thrown into the Trash-Bin by now.
I believe that it is my old, buggy Program; Adobe Premiere Pro. I have bought a new Program, Vegas Platinum 10, from my inheritance, but since the whole Project was built up in Premiere, I wanted to finish it there,
