Yellow City #1

If you were driving down I-40, which is the 3rd largest interstate in the U.S., then you'd drive right through Amarillo. And just west of the city limits, off of I-40, you'd be able to see…

Cadillac Ranch
Cadillac Ranch is probably one of the most well-known tourist stops in our small city. It's located right off the highway and at any time of any given day, you'll see travelors who stop to take pictures. It's exactly what it looks like, a bunch of Cadillacs half-buried in the ground.
Also, a really popular custom is to take cans of spray paint to leave your own "artwork" on the cars.

Random facts about Amarillo:
  • Nicknames include Yellow City, Bomb City, and Dirt City.
  • It's the 3rd windiest city in the country. It's really windy. Ridiculously windy. 20mph is actually a very mild day here.
  • At one time, Amarillo was the largest producer of helium. Weird.
