Stump, Sticks, Spectacular Fun

The other day, after a long walk, and time on the playground, I spotted a rotting, dead tree stump behind one of the apartment buildings in the complex. I thought I'd walk the boys past it on our way back inside.

When we got closer, I could see that it almost looked like driftwood, so I tried to pull some pieces off. When that worked, the boys got super excited, so we found some sticks and started poking. Which turned into beating and hammering and picking away at it.

The boys were in heaven. Love a free 'activity' that can wear them out and keep them occupied for nearly an hour!
