The innovative park

The innovative park

THE Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) will open its awareness park located in Al Thumama area in 2013.

The innovative park has been designed as a model centre for disseminating information on ways to conserve water and electricity.

In an attractive way, the park will also demonstrate the processes of electricity generation and water desalination from the sea and serve as an innovative source of entertainment and knowledge, especially for children.

This novel project was honoured with the Qatar Sustainability Assessment System (QSAS) award on Thursday.

Kahramaa President Essa bin Hilal al Kuwari received the award for the park which has achieved five-star QSAS Commercial Design Certification.

Prior to the presentation of the award, Head of Design Engineering Section at the Water Projects Department of Kahramaa Mohamad Thani al Maadead made a presentation highlighting the outstanding sustainability features of the project.

The construction work of the awareness park has been given this award for meeting all technical requirements by taking effective measures to minimise obstruction of daylight, providing landscape that encourages green and fights desertification, applying efficient lighting, cooling, plumbing and irrigation systems as well as using solar energy to heat and treat grey water.

Besides, the park uses materials that facilitate future reuse or recycling and reduce remarkably excessive energy consumption, control indoor pollutant sources and provides sufficient noise insulation.

The awareness park has been designed in a way to respect the cultural values of the country and the Arab world.

It boasts of intelligent building operation and control systems.

The park is being constructed as part of Kahramaa’s commitment to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030, which has sustainable development of the environment as one of its four main objectives

Nearly three out of 10 pediatric specialists have prescribed psychotropic medication to preschoolers

Nearly three out of 10 pediatric specialists have prescribed psychotropic medication to preschoolers

Nearly three out of 10 pediatric specialists have prescribed psychotropic medication to preschoolers with developmental disorders such as autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, according to a health ministry survey.

Conducted last fall by a ministry research group, the survey also found that more than half of the doctors who responded have prescribed drugs such as tranquilizers and sleeping pills to children up to second grade in elementary school.

It was the first such survey on prescribing such drugs to children.

Eiji Nakagawa, head of pediatric neurology at the National Center Hospital of the National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry in Kodaira, Tokyo, warned of the need to examine the long-term effects of psychotropic medication on children.

"The potential impact on patients' minds and physical growth arising from the continued use of such medication from an early age has not been examined, although some medication has a direct impact on neurotransmitters and hormonal secretion," said Nakagawa, who conducted the poll.

Noting that inexperienced doctors may prescribe such medication, Nakagawa said clinical guidelines need to be established by swiftly examining the safety of such medication for children in cooperation with pharmaceutical firms.

The survey of 1,155 pediatric neurologists and doctors certified by the Japanese Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry received responses from 618.

Of the respondents, 175 doctors, or 28 percent, said they had prescribed psychotropic medication to preschoolers, while 339, or 55 percent, said they had done so for children up to the second grade.

When including children up to high school age, 451 of the respondents, or 73 percent, said they had prescribed such drugs.

Such medication was prescribed to address sleeping disorders, impulsiveness, hyperactivity, self-injury and harm to others.

The medication prescribed included risperidone, methylphenidate and sleeping pills.

Concert in Indonesia, Justin Bieber make his fans happy

The arrival of singer Justin Bieber make his fans happy, especially women, of children, adolescents, up to the mothers.

Justin Bieber The fans have been impatiently waiting for the concert.
With his return to Indonesia, Justin Bieber asked for several conditions for the concert went well as she expected.

Like the previous artist, the artist who came from abroad have certain requirements for him to feel comfortable in a State, as well as Justin Bieber, as always artists who are famous, managemennya want a promoter to provide five-star hotel stay for Justin and rested and comfortable car. Until now there is no news that states that Justin wants the variety as a condition if you want a concert in Indonesia.

After the turn of the promoter, said Justin made some requests put forward, such as: all ticket prices to be the same, all the audience should get a seat. Looks like Justin Bieber really wants his fans to feel comfortable. He did not want to disappoint fans who want to watch his appearance.

About the price offered by promoters to bring in singers as famous as estimated by Justin Bieber maybe people will exorbitant price. But the thought seems to have us throw away. It is said that the promoters bring in a super star with a fairly cheap price, if we look at the fame Justin Bieber definitely impressed not possibly be cheap. Expected price given Justin Bieber for a concert in Indonesia for less than Rp. 1.5 M. This is not possible right? Perhaps this news is wrong. You never know ....

But definitely, Justin really wanted to be safe and comfortable when he's doing his stage act in Indonesia, and he also wants his fans to feel it.

Hopefully everything goes smoothly, so Justin will always put Indonesia as one of the country should he go to concerts.
