coral + purple

It seems like I have seen a ton of celebrities wearing this color combo recently, usually in a bold, colorblocked, 80s type of look. I love the colors, but prefer a more classic look. Here's a softer, more elegant and playful take on the trend.

Taking a Vote!

So, I'm getting ready to move into PHASE TWO of my home interior design. The master bedroom is going to go GRAY + YELLOW + CREAM and I need to figure out what to do in my office. As I've said before, I cannot wait for the day when my office will be a kids room. But until then, I really want to have an office I can enjoy and be proud of. I've come up with four different color schemes (the colors below on the left) and an accent color (the colors on the right) to add depending on if we eventually have a boy or a girl... I would love to hear your thoughts!

{glittering gold + old world charm}

Came across this divine bedroom with fabulous old world charm, isn't the tufted bed delightful? I love the color palette as well; greys, nudes, and a range of warm gold tones. I've placed my current gold accessory wish list alongside the images of this room for an extra touch of glittery inspiration.

Such a lovely and feminine space. Can you tell I've got all-things-gold on the brain lately?

ink + chartreuse

I love preppy color combos (read: navy + anything). This inky navy looks great with a bright, golden green. And that blue door is killing me.

walls in pink

It's probably obvious that I love soft pink tones (they have appeared in a few of my color inspiration mood boards recently). The right soft pink tone (a warm blush, preferably) is feminine but not girlie and neutral-y but not boring. Perfect.

My favorite use of the color is PAINT. I love love love blush colored walls. I think this is because sometimes blush colored textiles can come off as too soft. I like the unexpectedness of a very solid thing (wall) painted in a softening color.

See? Softening, but not necessarily girlie.

kelly + peacock

A lot of the reports out of this year's Highpoint Market cited peacock as a coming trend. Not complaining-- I love the feather/bird motif and the beautiful blue and green gem tones. Speaking of the colors, why do we use "peacock blue," but not "peacock green"? There's a ton of green in peacock feathers, too. Just saying.

lemon + blossom + dove

I'm kind of obsessed with using dove grey as a neutral base--it looks fantastic with pretty much every color imaginable. In this palette, it brings a grown-up element to the youthful bright yellow and pale pink.

corals

Isn't coral the best Summery color? It has the warmth and ferocity of red and orange with the playfulness of pink and looks great both soft and bold.
