We have three apple trees in our garden, one of them is so rotten and damaged but still provides us with more fruit than you would ever imagine it would. Its trunk is about a quarter of what it should be and will crumble with a slight tug. I think i could quite possibly pull the tree down all by myself! I recently discovered why it has become so weak. It has become a wasp graveyard, tens of holes hold tiny brittle wasp bodies which have been there for i don't know how long. The soft wood around each hole has been chewed into sawdust and the trunk is now an artistic display of smooth resting places for these striking insects.
(Photo wouldn't rotate)
Its a fascinating insight into the natural world and i feel blessed to get so close to what was once a wasp habitat. Its just another piece of knowledge that i can share and demonstrate to Little D, to try and instill in him a love for all things created by the Almighty. Prophet Muhammad said "Whoever is kind to Gods creation then God will be kind to them". Without the knowledge and understanding for the natural world, then one is less likely to be kind and respectful to it. And even wasps need kindness!
