Below are pics of the HGTV Dream Homes going all the way back to its inception in 1997. Its interesting to see how the the concept and idea of what constitutes a "Dream Home" have evolved  over this this relatively short time period, especially in regards to construction techniques and architectural styles. This mountain home is a skier's dream, located at the base of popular Colorado trails.  he house itself is designed in a rustic, yet sophisticated style with a lodge room in the entrance hall, an ultimate media room, and even its own observation deck.

The 2005 HGTV Dream House is a sweeping mansion built on the shores of Lake Tyler in Texas. The 6,500 square foot house is the only one with direct access to the lake waters.
