Top 10 Holiday Gifts That Save Lives-- 3. Charity Deeds

Some charity deeds involve stepping up and taking care of something for someone that otherwise would not have the ability to do for themselves.

Yet, other deeds are things you do for others that they could probably do for themselves; but either don’t have the time, nor concern to do.

THREE Great Charity Deeds are…

1. Pay a BILL: Be it a friend or stranger, everyone knows someone who is behind on a bill or two. There are organizations that assist in helping to pay a power or gas bill. If you don’t feel like doing the research to find out who to contact…Help out a friend or family member! Believe me; you will not have to search long, or hard.

2. Give a helping HAND: Everyone seems to overlook the simple, inexpensive gifts such as cleaning a friend or family member’s house. Simply schedule a day, go to your parents home and clean like you’d never cleaned before (…if you can afford it, you can hire someone to do it for you).

Some other ways to lend a helping hand are:
• Help to repair that cabinet door which falls off the hinge every time you open it!
• Help to finance a family member’s college by adding to one of their college funds or starting one for them. For more information log on to www.firstshare.com (as mentioned on CNN News).
• Fix your grandmother’s faucet that’s been dripping for years.
• Change someone’s oil (if you know how).

3. HABITAT for HUMANITY: www.habitat.org. Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit organization founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat and its homeowner families have built or rehabilitated more than 350,000 houses. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build together in partnership.
